Over 1,500 people will be without power going into Thanksgiving morning Thursday due to a strong wind storm that knocked out six power poles say Pacific Power officials. Tom Gauntt, a representative with Pacific Power says nearly 1,400 of the original 3,000 people without power in Moxee and Yakima were reconnected with power Wednesday. However, approximately 1,623 will remain without power until Thursday, Thanksgiving day. Pacific Power says crews will work overnight and hope to restore power by 6 a.m. Gauntt says one large power pole fell down, and brought the other five poles with it. Moxee police blocked off Postma and Fauchet roads in Moxee. Also the traffic light at Highway 24 and Beaudry went out as well. The affected areas are 98936 and 98901 in Moxee and Yakima.
