Introduction

The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company always endeavors to improve and develop its capacities and the capacities of the affiliated companies, because it realizes the importance of its mission in the society. The company is responsible for providing the electric energy for its users in all usage fields according to the international standards of performance in the light of the economic, social, and environmental standards, in addition to special regulations of the Regulatory Body for Electric Utilities and Consumer Protection

• The company supervises, monitors, and follows up on the activities of the affiliated companies in the fields of production, transmission, and electric energy distribution of electric energy, in order to help them improve their performance, technical, financial and operational capability. Also the EEHC helps affiliated companies on reducing the expenditures through the effective usage of all resources to increase the profitability.

In its continuous efforts to cover the increasing demand on the electric energy, the company is planning for expanding and developing the unified electric grid, which requires establishing new Power plants, new Substations, and transmission and distribution grids or improving these grids and rehabilitating the old grids. The maximum load increased from 3306 M.W in 1980/1981 to 15678 M.W in 2004/2005, which required increasing the generated energy from 20 Billion K.W.h to almost 101 Billion K.W.h

• At the same time the company is working in developing the service for the Customers who increased from 4.5 Million Customers in the early eighties to 20.7 Million in 2004/2005, by facilitating and speeding up the procedures of subscription, while applying the technological advancements and monitoring its quality.
