Information System

The Holding Company believes in the importance of working electronically, and thus it has undertaken some measures to build technical and financial data basis which would provides the data quickly. Also some actions were taken that will help the planning and execution of the network and other activities needed for the conferences and symposiums. The Holding company also organized training courses in computers

I.       The Financial and Administrative Information System:-

§        There is an internal data net in Lotus Notes program that would provide recent technical, financial, and administrative information, in addition to the electronic email and updating the holding company site on the internet which would provide technical data in Arabic and English.

§        Working, in the time being, on establishing information net connecting the Ministry of Electricity and the Holding company with the affiliated companies and institutions, through a primary data base.

§        Establishing sites for the Holding company and the affiliated companies on the internet to provide information and services for the public through the following websites:-

I.       The GIS Information System

1.      The GIS plotted 50% of Cairo Electricity grid and 50% of Alexandria Electricity grid on digital maps of a drawing scale 1: 5000 in the frame of updating GIS System. It's planned to complete plotting the grid of the Arab Republic of Egypt on digital maps.

2.      Plotting most of all towers, lines and substations for the governorates of North and South Sinai.

3.      Updating the maps of the National Grid for year 2005 for 17 governorates.

4.      Updating the maps of all the regions of Egypt until 2005.

5.      Plotting the locations of the New and Renewable Authority on the map completed while plotting the is in progress an apart of the Project of preparing the locations of the Country's properties.

6.      Documenting the achievements of the Electricity sector, until year 2005, in a documentary film.

7.      Participating in two conference:-

A.     The Fifth Arab Conference.

B.     The International Surveyors Conference, April 2005.

8.      The center is contributing in the Technical feasibility study to choose the best locations   for establishing Power plants and substations to define the best route        for extending the Electric grid lines to support the decision taking process.

9.      The GIS provides technical and statistical reports, including graphs in the maps of the Unified Electric Grid.

10. Now technical service are been rendered to the Sudanese Electricity Authority.
