The Efficiency enhancing and Environmental Improvement of Power plants |
- The main aim for this project is to improve the pollution monitoring and reduce the pollutes emissision of that is emitted in some Power plants, through applying the appropriate procedures to increase the thermal efficiency and considering the importance of environmental issues. |
- This project is implemented to achieve several environmental and social aspects among which are: |
* Protecting inhabitants and nature in the neighboring area of power plants. * Paying more attention to ecological aspects through quantitive predictions of environmental situation in power plants and in the respective neighboring area. * Improving the system and components of power plants to reduce the negative effects on neighboring area. * Enhancing the efficiency of the power plants and achieve the economical optimum of the respective power plants to ensure environmental improvement. * Attaining optimal use by adopting cost-effective procedures. |
- The project is divided into 3 stages as follows: |
1. Assesment of the environment in the neighboring area of the power plant. 2. Evaluation of the technology and the organization of power plants. Identification and selection the necessary procedures for technological and environmental improvement. |
Accordingly, optimal procedures have been selected to make modifications which attain the best results with optimal cost.
EEHC and the German government have been working together to implement a project amounting to € 20 million + LE. 16 million which has resulted in reducing Nitrogen oxides by 1350 tons/year in Damanhour power plant, 270 tons/year in Attaka power plant , and by 9350 tons/year in Shoubra El-Kheima power plant, in addition to more than 35000 tons/year reduction of Carbon dioxides. |
